Tossed into salads or turned into classic guacamole, buttery avocadoes are loaded with nutrients including vitamin B6, potassium and folate.

What you will need

  • Cutting surface
  • Sharp knife
  • Ripe avocado


To prevent discolouration, squeeze lemon juice over cut avocado and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Will keep for two days.


Use knife to slice into the avocado, cutting lengthways around the stone.


Gently twist the cut halves in opposite directions and lift to separate.

Pierce stone

Pierce the stone with the knife, twist and lift to remove. Discard the stone.
